The Fierce Thought Web Hosting Servers are housed at the Pittock Data Center
in downtown Portland, Oregon in the United States, and in Manchester,
England for United Kingdom. The facilities both contain everything needed to
ensure your mission-critical Internet operation is functioning at the

Power Supply with Generator Backup
Our Portland Data Center currently has AC power from Portland General
Electric. Multiple power feeds are provided to the building from separate
power grids to help reduce the chances of a power outage. In a very rare
case of utility outage, onsite UPS battery backup systems are used to supply
the equipment with power until one of seven backup generators are started.
Each of the backup generators are controlled via automatic switching causing
them to start as soon as the utilities power goes offline. Each generator is
tested on a weekly basis by qualified staff.

Restricted access to our Data
Centers are monitored by qualified personnel and 24/7 monitoring coverage by
closed circuit camera systems. The entire Network Operations Center is
monitored, ensuring prompt response and thorough coverage to fire or
security alarms. Every authorized member of the personnel is provided with a
unique pin code for entering the building as well as key card access to the
server area. In addition to server security Fierce Thought also works to
ensure account information is kept confidential and never share any any
client information with third parties.

Global Network
Controlled by a single management point (CP), our users are able to deploy
accounts in the United States and the United Kingdom seamlessly, with other
countries coming soon.
E-Mail Redundancy
Fierce Thought's mail servers are inter connected for redundancy, if one
mail server fails, one of the others will pick up the mail and store it
until the troubled server is back On-Line.
DNS Fail-Over
Unlike all-in-one hosted solutions, our distributed services, including DNS
mean if one server is down, the other can still serve the records.
Distributed Services
By providing each service with it's own server, Fierce Thought ensures a
lesser load and points of failure for the web server, the effect is a higher
uptime and quicker delivery of web pages.
